Six-year-old Lucy Morgan lost her life in a freak accident when a racket broke during a downward swing, and a piece of metal from the handle snapped off and pierced her skull. Sadly, she suffered severe injuries.

Medical personnel made every effort to save Lucy, but her injuries were too extensive.
At the time of the tragedy, the family was on vacation in Limerick, Maine.

Lucy’s heartbroken father, Pastor Jesse Morgan, wrote on his blog that when the metal piece struck his daughter, she was unresponsive but was still breathing on her own. She was quickly taken to the nearest hospital from where she was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland
