Josh Brolin has just released his memoir, sharing some surprising details that many people didn’t know before. This book comes straight from his heart and gives fans a glimpse into his life and his background.
In his memoir, he talks about a frightening parenting trick his mother used. During an interview about his book, titled “From Under the Truck,” he shared a story about a night filled with heavy drinking that ended with his mother’s boyfriend passing out under a car.
Childhood Memories
His mom, Jane, was really into wildlife conservation. When Josh Brolin and his brother Jess were kids, she had a wild game she liked to play with them. She would tell animals like cougars, coyotes, and bobcats to go “Sic ’em,” and then those animals would chase after the boys!
Brolin mentioned, “You knew if you didn’t get on the other side of that shut door within a couple of seconds, you’d be cleaning up fresh bloody marks somewhere on your body for the rest of the day.”
Even though these stories sound super scary, Brolin admits that he’s “loath to say” they were horrifying. In an interview, he said that while his mom could be tough to deal with, he always wanted her around.
