Donald Trump played a Celine Dion song at his rally, and Celine Dion didn’t like it. She gave him a strong warning to stop using her music.

With the 2024 election heating up, both Trump and Kamala Harris are holding rallies across the US. Trump often plays a song when he starts his speeches and sometimes even dances to it. He’s upset a lot of musicians by using their songs without asking, including Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Pharrell Williams, Phil Collins, and the Village People. Now, Celine Dion is speaking out because Trump used one of her songs at his rallies too.

At a rally in Montana, Trump played Celine Dion’s song “My Heart Will Go On” and showed a video of her singing it. However, Dion didn’t give permission for this, and her team has asked Trump to stop using the song. Dion’s management and record label have made it clear that they don’t approve of this use of her song.

Despite dealing with a health condition called stiff person syndrome, Dion recently performed at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, singing Edith Piaf’s “L’Hymne A L’Amour” from the Eiffel Tower. Reports say she was paid $2 million for that performance.

The Olympics quickly denied the reports. They said that performers at the Paris 2024 Games won’t be paid for their performances.

The Olympics said that performers are excited to be part of this special event for France and the sports world, even though they won’t be paid. The Games will pay for all the technical and organization costs, as usual. They also pointed out that most of their budget comes from private donations, not public funds.
